"This is my maiden voyage. My first speech since I was the president of the United States and I couldn't think of a better place to give it than Calgary, Canada." -George W. Bush, Calgary, Canada, March 17, 2009
Hello all, I think that this time I am going to talk about the war on Terror. I know this is a sensitive subject for a lot of people. Ince I talked to someone who said that the war was stupid and we should pull out because her uncle was in the military. I understand that no one wants their loved ones to be in danger but, they wouldn't be in the military if they didn't plan on being involved in war.
Another problem is people who say that we shouldn't be in Iraq at all. Although Iraq was not part of the original plan, our involvement in their predicament has allowed the Iraqui people to become free from Sadam Hussein. He used nerve and mustard gas against them regularly and massacred more of his own people than Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin.
Our involvement in the middle east has paved the way for freedom to millions of people who don't fully understand it. I hope that Americans realize this so that they can give our troops the support they deserve.
